Microneedling, microchanneling, Dermapen, ProCell: if you read up on treatments for skin texture, you come across many similar names. It is often unclear whether they mean the same treatment or two different ones. At Skin2Glow we offer both. Here we explain how they differ.

In short

  • Both treatments create fine micro-channels in the skin and bring in active ingredients at the same time.

  • We do microneedling with the Dermapen 4, an electric microneedling pen.

  • ProCell Microchanneling works with a stamping technique and sterile single-use tips.

  • The treatments differ in serums, process, duration and price.

  • Which one suits you, we decide together after a skin analysis.

1. Microneedling with the Dermapen 4

Microneedling with the Dermapen 4 at Skin2Glow

In microneedling, the Dermapen 4 uses fine needles to place controlled micro-impulses in the skin. Beforehand, we apply a numbing cream.

This is how the appointment works with us: depending on your skin, we prepare it with HydroDiamond or a light fruit acid peel. During microneedling, we apply a hyaluronic or collagen serum. To finish, there is a soothing sheet mask and care.

  • Area: face

  • Duration: 1 hour

  • Price: 180 €

2. ProCell Microchanneling

ProCell Microchanneling at Skin2Glow in Vienna

In ProCell Microchanneling, the skin is treated with a vertical stamping technique, without dragging or rolling movements. The tips are sterile and used only once.

During the treatment, we apply serums with growth factors and peptides. This is followed by a ProCell sheet mask with hyaluronic acid and 10 minutes of Dermalux LED light therapy. A HomeKit for care at home is included in the price. At low depths, numbing cream is usually not needed.

  • Areas: face, face and neck, or neck and décolleté

  • Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes

  • Price: face from 280 €, face and neck from 340 €, neck and décolleté from 280 €

3. The difference at a glance

  • Technique: Dermapen 4 (electric pen) or ProCell (stamping technique with single-use tip)

  • Active ingredients: hyaluronic or collagen serum, or serums with growth factors and peptides

  • Extras: preparation and sheet mask, or sheet mask, LED light and HomeKit

  • Areas: face, or face, neck and décolleté in three options

  • Time and price: 1 hour and 180 €, or 1 hour 15 minutes and from 280 €

Redness afterwards is possible with both treatments. How strong and how long depends on your skin and the treatment depth. We tell you beforehand what to expect.

4. Questions for your consultation

  1. What bothers me most about my skin?

  2. Do I want to treat only my face, or also neck and décolleté?

  3. How much time do I have after the appointment in case my skin is red?

  4. How many sessions make sense for my goal, and what does that cost in total?

  5. Is there anything that speaks against either treatment, such as medication, pregnancy or inflamed skin?

We answer these questions honestly and recommend the treatment that suits your skin. For medical questions, a dermatologist is the right place to go.
