Buccal Massage in Vienna: What Happens at Your First Appointment

Updated: 2 days ago
You are interested in a facial massage and come across the term buccal massage. The idea that part of the massage happens inside the mouth sounds unusual at first. So many people ask before their first appointment: What exactly happens, does it hurt, and who actually does it?
Here are the answers, based on how the treatment works at Skin2Glow in Vienna Döbling.
In short
Buccal massage is part of Sculptural Face Lifting™: a manual facial massage from the outside and through the inner cheek.
Face, jaw and neck are treated, by hand only, without needles and without devices.
The treatment takes 60 minutes and costs 160 €.
You are treated by Natasa Recek. She has been certified and licensed in Sculptural Face Lifting™ by Yakov Gershkovich since 2022.
1. What is a buccal massage?
"Buccal" refers to the cheek. With the buccal technique, the cheek and jaw muscles are also massaged from the inside, through the inner cheek. On the outside, we work with targeted lifting grips on the face, jaw and neck.
At Skin2Glow, the buccal technique is part of Sculptural Face Lifting. This manual method was developed by Yakov Gershkovich.
2. What happens at your first appointment

1. A short look before we start
No special preparation is needed. Ideally, come without make-up or with cleansed skin. Before the treatment, we take a short look at your skin and facial muscles and adapt the technique to you.
2. Massage from the outside and the inside
We start with lifting grips on the outside and then work with the buccal technique through the inner cheek. The pressure is intense but controlled, and we adjust it to you throughout. If anything feels uncomfortable, just tell us.
3. Finish
To finish, we apply serum, cream and/or sunscreen, depending on your skin.
3. Does a buccal massage hurt?
Everyone feels the pressure differently. If your jaw is very tense, it can be briefly uncomfortable. Afterwards, slight redness or a feeling like sore muscles is possible. Both usually fade within a few hours.
4. What you can realistically expect
Whether and how clearly you see a change after the treatment differs from person to person. That is why we do not promise a specific effect or a specific duration. We also do not show before and after photos of clients.
To begin with, we recommend 6 to 8 sessions, once a week. After that, a monthly maintenance session is possible if you wish. How many appointments make sense for you is something we discuss at your first visit.
5. Who treats you?

At Skin2Glow, buccal massage is performed only by Natasa Recek, the founder of the studio. She has been certified in Sculptural Face Lifting™ since April 2022 (International Sculptural Face Lifting™ Academy) and has held the practising licence for the method since September 2022.
